A microlight aircraft has crashed in Tema after losing communication with aviation authorities while en route to Accra.
The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA)Â confirmed the incident in a press release on Monday, March 16, 2026, stating that the aircraft, registration 9G-ADV, crashed during a flight from Ho to Accra.
According to the aviation regulator, the aircraft was estimated to arrive in Accra at 1520 Zulu, but the last radio contact was recorded at 1418 Zulu.
The GCAA indicated that two persons were on board the aircraft at the time of the incident.
Details about the condition of the occupants or the circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately available.
The aviation authority said further information will be provided as investigations into the incident continue.
The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, established in 1986, is responsible for regulating air transport operations in the country, managing air navigation services within the Accra Flight Information Region, and overseeing the licensing and safety of aviation operations in Ghana.
