Wealth Over Life

Water is Life and its importance can’t be quantified by any scale, be it the scale of gold or any other natural resources. And, creation paints a perfect picture of this important life-giving asset on a canvas covering almost the entire surface of the earth. Thus, water makes about 71% of the earth’s surface, with only 29% less to cover the entire face of the earth. This must be proverbially speaking to us that water is life.

What is more alarming is that only 3% of the 71% of earth’s water is fresh and 2.5% of this freshwater is unavailable; it is locked up in glaciers, the atmosphere, in the soil, or lying too far beneath the earth’s surface to be extracted at an affordable cost. With this, only 0.5% of the earth’s water is readily and easily accessible as freshwater according to the Bureau of Reclamation California-Great Basin.

Water is Life and its importance can’t be quantified by any scale be it the scale of gold or any other natural resources.

The human anatomy is an additional portrait of importance regarding water painted by creation. It is projected that the human system makes up about 60% of water and this seemingly will fill up to a little above the Patella or kneecap from the crown of one’s head. Empirically, a person can survive without food for weeks but can’t survive beyond two to four days without water.

It is also very true that a person can survive a lifetime without gold but not without water. Hence the improper extraction of mineral resources that destroys the already depleting water resources must be keenly looked at as its devastating effect on the human, plant, and animal life will be detrimental.
